General Session 1: "I Just Wish My Supervisor...!"
Thursday, December 18th 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Presenters: Gary Markham and Peter Loel Boonshaft
This session will look at the relationship between supervisor and teacher, detailing real-world experiences. By looking at what works and what doesn’t work, we can improve and enhance this interaction to ensure a positive atmosphere and continued success for teachers, supervisors, and most importantly, students.
General Session 2: Administration Advocacy WMDs - the Why, the Mission, the Data"Thursday, December 18th 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.Presenter: Jeremy Earnhart
This interactive session will include presentations successful in changing central & campus administration conversations from reduction, to music program expansion. It will also include local application of music cuts and reverse economics (Benham, 2011)
RSVP Session: "What Do I Need from the Music Supervisor" - Four Perspectives
Friday, December 19th 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
This double-session will identify and stimulate discussion on the various roles and expectations of music leaders from different perspectives. The sessions will also focus on developing priorities and broadening understanding. Refreshments for this session will be provided by the Conn-Selmer Division of Education.
