Artist's BiographyNathan Gingrich was born and raised on the west coast of Canada. He received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of Regina. He then went on to study classical trombone performance at the Hochschule fuer Music FRANZ LISZT, Weimar, Germany, earning an Advanced Artist's Diploma and then a Degree in Jazz and Pop Music performance.
He was a founding member and manager for the Salve Brass international brass quartet. He has performed around the world with many groups - including several Canadian tours, tours around Germany and Europe and even all the way to China!
Mr. Gingrich joined in the Calgary Board of Education at the end of August 2006 when he returned from Germany.
He is active in the Calgary musical scene, having performed with a great variety of ensembles (including New West Brass, Calgary Creative Arts Ensemble, the Calgary Jazz Orchestra, Prime Time Big Band, Altius Brass, the Alberta Winds, among others) and teaching workshops and master classes. In December of 2008, Mr. Gingrich organized Calgary's first-ever Holiday Tubafest.
Mr. Gingrich currently teaches at William Aberhart High School in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He directs the concert band, a jazz ensemble and has recently started a trombone ensemble and brass ensemble beginning a culture of chamber music at the school. He always looks forward to the journey to achieve musical excellence and appreciation for the performing arts.
Mr. Gingrich plays on a variety of Conn-Selmer trombones - including: Conn 88H, King 2B and Bach 50BO.
